It’s no secret I love a Teeny Tiny Royal Oak (or TTRO, affectionately). But this is a TTBRO. A teeny tiny BLINGY Royal Oak. The Royal Oak, designed by the legendary Gérald Genta, is itself a legendary watch. It has just turned 50 this year, and has been celebrated with numerous new releases, events and even a few Royal Oak-specific sales at the major auction houses. But this exceptional Royal Oak, here, is to be celebrated in its own right. Holding its weight in white gold and clocking in at a petite 25mm, this RO is nearly 10mm smaller than the smallest Royal Oak offered new today, which is 34mm, for your reference. An absolute shame as these smaller versions are quite versatile and perfectly proportioned for everyday wear on smaller wrists! So not only is it TT, but it is set with factory diamonds and emeralds. That’s right. FACTORY. No after-market customization here. Just pure, brand approved bling. This piece is quite rare, fit for the rarest of wrists.
DATE OF BIRTH: Circa 2000’s
MATERIAL: 18k white gold, factory diamonds and emeralds
SIZE: 25mm
MOVEMENT: Quartz
CONDITION: Excellent, unpolished
BOX/PAPERS: No/No
THE NITTY GRITTY:
A solid eighteen carat white gold Royal Oak with a quartz movement. This watch is presented in superb and original condition. The case lines remain very sharp throughout. There are very few signs of wear to the case or bracelet. The bracelet is the iconic version of the larger model, which is integrated into the watch case. It is also in excellent condition, with no signs of stretch. The original clasp is working well, securing firmly.
The dial on this watch is an exceptionally rare haute jewelry piece. Rather than being the classic ”Tapisserie” waffle looking dial, instead it is a stunning full pavé diamond set dial with stunning green emeralds set as the hour markers. The quality of the stones are exceptional, with the watch glittering as it is moved around. The trademark screwed in bezel is also factory set with diamonds. This model also includes the date located at the three o’clock position, framed in white gold. Being that the watch has no printing on it due to the stones, the AP logo is also cut from white gold and pinned to the dial at the twelve o’clock position.
This is an exceptional watch. Very rare with very, very few examples being produced by AP. As is well known, the Royal Oak is, along with the Patek Philippe Nautilus was designed by Gérald Genta, and is one of the most iconic ‘sports’ watches ever designed. This is perhaps one of the finest examples in the smaller case made. A stunning example in perfect condition.
