Bulgari! You may know about this Italian jewelry house’s famed Serpenti watch (*hisssssss*). But are you familiar with the more subtle Bulgari Bulgari collection? Inspired by ancient Roman coins, these pieces have “Bulgari” engraved in a circular pattern, mimicking currency of yore with a modern, sporty construction. I love love love this watch… or should I say “adoro questo orologio.” Its integrated bracelet is reminiscent of some very famous steel sports watches (cough cough, the Royal Oak), but this watch is not trying to be anything other than what it is: a classy, fun, simple (and affordable!) steel watch that just happens to be made by one of the most glamorous jewelry makers in the world. The black mirror dial plays with the light ever so whimsically, and it’s a piece sure to start a conversation without yelling. If you know, you know… and if you don’t, keep it moving.

THE NITTY GRITTY: 

A stainless steel Bulgari Bulgari watch on a bracelet. This is a great everyday watch from one of the world’s most iconic jewellery houses: Bulgari. This watch is very classic in design with a black dial and a combination of long stick hour markers and the Arabic 12 and 6. The watch came in two variations: date and no date. This example is the quick set date version.

Inspired by ancient coins of Imperial Rome, the Bulgari Bulgari collection features a circular engraving of its signature on the bezel, which is in excellent condition. This is where one would likely see damage from wear and tear, as the bezel is flat and finished to a high shine. But this example remains only slightly (but lovingly) scratched. 

The watch comes fitted to its original tapered, integrated bracelet. We can presume this bracelet has taken design cues from the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. There is a fold-out deployant buckle to open the bracelet, and there are removable links should it need to be made smaller.

Overall, the watch is in very good condition. All of the lines are sharp and the watch is free from heavy scratches or dings. As of the time of listing, it is keeping excellent time.
