Hermès Kelly Watch

Hermès, Hermès, ooh la la. What could be more classic than a Kelly watch on their tried and true leather? But we love this watch for it being decidedly not "classic" in the literal sense of the word: the dangling lock is quite a departure from your standard timepiece, emerging as a statement for any fashion-obsessed Dimepiece. And it's priced just right if you're not ready to spend upwards of 4 figures... difficult to do when watch shopping, we will admit.

CONDITION:  The leather is in very good condition. There are light scratches in parts to the Kelly lock part. The piece is in very good condition overall.

THE NITTY GRITTY:

"Take one of the most iconic pieces of handbag hardware and make it into a watch" was the design brief here. It was accomplished well. This sits somewhere between jewelry and watch, and it's a good place to be. The finish to the hardware is the same process as with the bag hardware. It is a high micron gold plating to the base metal. There is some wear to the padlock where is has moved around once being worn over the years. But nothing that detracts overall.

The metal is pinned into the hand stitched Hermès grained black leather and has the original Hermès iconic buckle that is also found across other parts of their lines, including the other watches such as the Cape Cod. The leather shows very little to any signs of wear.

The black dial has gilt printing to it, and another element of Hermès iconography; the equestrian nail head marks out the three, six and nine o’clock positions.  The dial is signed “Swiss Made" below the six o'clock nail head. The condition is good throughout and is very attractive in black against the gold lock.
