This is a watch that is easy to love. In the current advent of the colorful OP range from Rolex, this is the OG of the OP! The smooth bezel, Oyster bracelet and no date window make for the ultimate in pared down, clean Rolex in this sized case. It will work with anything, at any time.
The dial color is the more unusual beautiful blue sunburst dial. These dials are very eye catching, and really play with the light due to the way they are finished. At night they are a midnight navy, and in direct sunlight they really light up to a mid blue. The luminous material used on the dial is tritium here that was used up until the end of the 1990’s. Hence the “T Swiss T” marking at the base of the dial. It is all original and remains untouched and in excellent condition, featuring all lume plots intact that have remained very close to their factory white color. This will continue to evolve over time, and they will become even more attractive. Part of the beauty of tritium.
The serif printing of the text and indices ring, which run along the edge of the dial is all in white, sitting well with the dial background, complemented by the classic shaped steel stick markers. The classic steel baton hands are fitted and also contain the original luminous material, which matches the plots perfectly, and respond the same under ultraviolet light.
The case is in excellent condition throughout and appears to be unpolished. This is a “no holes” case, meaning that the lug holes are not drilled and exposed from the sides of the case, making for a cleaner finish. There is a protective sticker on the case back. This may be the factory one, although it is not Rolex green or signed. Either way, it has meant the case back is in factory original condition behind it. The original Oyster link bracelet is in excellent condition throughout with no sag or heavy scratching to the deployant buckle. This watch really is a fine example of clean and classic Rolex aesthetics all bundled up in a beautiful small package
